LiveDigitalCopy is the first implementation of DVD-Video Managed Copy. By applying LiveDigitalCopy, Content Owners can add a software to their regular produced DVDs that enables the rights management controlled creation of digital files for use on PCs, portable media players, mobile phones and game consoles.
Allows secure non DVD player usage of the movie
LiveDigitalCopy enables the Content Owner to allow the end user to create a limited number of optionally DRM controlled "digital copies" of the movie for the PC and portable devices such as media player, cell phones or game consoles. The following table lists the currently available output targets.

Requires no separate DVD
The traditional way of supplying digital copies was to add a separate DVD with several media files which were specially created to work with specifc devices. With LiveDigitalCopy this additional DVD is no longer necessary because the files are individually created, directly from the DVD content.
Superior video and audio quality
Another big advantage of using LiveDigitalCopy is that the digital file is created exactly for the requirements of the device where the file is to be used. This makes is possible to select the optimum settings in terms of resolution, bitrate and aspect ratio for each device which typically results in a higher quality and better experience.
Multiple formats
LiveDigitalCopy supports outputs to WMV files, PlaysForSure compatible devices, mobile phones (OMA 3GP), Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP), Apple iPod. In addition the LiveDigitalCopy software can also handle pre-encoded files. All formats can be restricted to several security levels. Which output format is available to the end users is controlled by the rights owner.
Multiple audio languages and subtitles
Unlike traditional digital files the dynamic file creation allows LiveDigitalCopy to support multiple audio languages and subtitles based on the user's location or language setting.
Compatibility
LiveDigitalCopy can be combined with CSS and/or structural protections and does not limit the playback compatibility in any way. Verification tests from leading independent verification labs are available on request.
Requirements
LiveDigitalCopy can only be deployed by the Content Owner or by a Replicator on behalf of a Content Owner. LiveDigitalCopy does not require any special authoring and can be implemented fully automatically within minutes.
